On Saturday, September 20, please join us in bringing the Charles to the Cuyahoga as the Cleveland Rowing Foundation hosts the Head of the Cuyahoga Regatta! Join members of the Harvard Club of Northeast Ohio to cheer on the rowers from our local highs schools, colleges and master's programs at the Regatta.
Sponsored by the Cleveland Rowing Foundation at its 4 acre riverfront home, racing begins at 8 am and continues until about 2. Over 1,200 rowers, ages 14 to 80+ from schools, universities and clubs from 5 states and Canada will be competing in two dozen or more events over the 3 mile head race course. You can watch from the grassy banks of the newest Metropark or from bridges along the course. Or you can walk the new riverside trail.
The Harvard Club has invited us to join them in their VIP room in the new Merwin's Wharf restaurant along the river, the prime viewing location along the river, hosted by Club members who row in Master's events (Bill Braun, Charlie Braun, Brad Whitehead, Jon Adams, Kevin Roberts). There is no admission fee, and plenty of food and drink. Free parking. Entrance to Rivergate is at the intersection of Columbus and Merwin Avenues. (Type 1852 Columbus Avenue Cleveland into your GPS to get there (Sainato Restaurant….on the corner where you turn on to Merwin). The VIP area will be open from 11 to 2.
